Who he is
Jónas Einarsson is a Norwegian physician, entrepreneur and innovation leader who has played a central role in building Norway’s modern cancer innovation ecosystem. Trained as a medical doctor, he later focused on translating cancer research into new companies, collaborations and patient-oriented innovation.
Contribution to cancer innovation
As Chief Executive Officer of Radforsk, Einarsson has helped identify, develop and invest in cancer research with commercial potential. During his career he has been involved in the creation and development of more than twenty start-up companies working to advance new cancer treatments and technologies.
Connection to Oslo Cancer Cluster and legacy
Together with Professor Kaare Norum, Einarsson co-founded Oslo Cancer Cluster in 2006 after recognising the potential of the oncology environment surrounding the Norwegian Radium Hospital. He also helped establish Oslo Cancer Cluster Innovation Park, creating a shared campus where researchers, clinicians, entrepreneurs, investors and industry partners could work side-by-side to accelerate the development of new cancer treatments.
His work has contributed significantly to making Campus Radiumhospitalet one of Europe’s leading centres for cancer innovation and collaboration.
