A dedicated oncology cluster

Oslo Cancer Cluster is dedicated to improving the lives of cancer patients by accelerating the development of new cancer diagnostics and treatments.

We are a non-profit member organisation focused on cancer. By using global connections and national advantages, we help get the right treatment to the right patient at the right time. We are dedicated to this mission through several completed and ongoing projects.

Our recurring topics include precision medicine, public-private collaborations, and digitisation of biopharma and diagnostics companies.

The world-class research environment in cancer immunotherapy, a growing pipeline of pre-clinical and clinical-stage assets, and several pharma, technology, and IT companies strengthen the cluster’s position as an international knowledge and innovation hub in the cancer field.

Our members

Our member base comprises university hospitals, research centres, patient organisations, start-ups and biotech companies, global pharma and technology companies, investors, financial institutions as well as service providers – all working in the cancer field.

The Radiumhospital Campus

Oslo Cancer Cluster is situated in Oslo Cancer Cluster Innovation Park. We share the innovation park with Ullern Upper Secondary School, the Cancer Registry of Norway, Oslo University Hospital, several cancer start-ups and scale-ups, service providers and more.

Next door is the Oslo University Hospital (the Norwegian Radium Hospital and its Institute for Cancer Research), a leading comprehensive cancer centre in Northern Europe, accredited by the OECI. In 2024, the hospital opened its doors to a brand-new clinic building and proton centre.

Oslo Cancer Cluster closely collaborates with the hospital, the Institute for Cancer Research, and the Cancer Registry and has a long-term school-industry collaboration with Ullern Upper Secondary School.

A brief history

Oslo Cancer Cluster was initiated in 2006 by Kaare Norum, former Principal of the University of Oslo and Jónas Einarsson, CEO of RADFORSK (formerly, the Radium Hospital Research Foundation).

Our incubator

Around 30 of our members are gathered in Oslo Cancer Cluster Incubator. The Incubator provides a dynamic, creative, and professional growth environment for scientists and start-ups, as well as an inspirational campus for students with ambitions in life science.

A dedicated Incubator team provides business development services, access to an international network of key industry players, and support to pursue funding opportunities.

The Incubator consists of 5 000 square metres of offices and laboratories including start-ups, global pharma, consultants, service providers, investors, and research institutions. A wide range of meeting rooms and auditorium facilities are available on request.
