Jens Petter Berg holds the position as vice-rector for life science and health research and innovation at the University of Oslo (UiO) (2025-) and is Professor at the Institute of Clinical Medicine (UiO). By education he is cand. med. and dr. med. from UiO. Berg has specialist training in medical biochemistry and holds a 20 % position as consultant at the Department of medical biochemistry, Oslo university hospital (OUS). He has experience from several leadership positions such as Department Head at OUS and Research Dean at the Faculty of Medicine at UiO. His scientific interests are primarily on biochemical and hormonal biomarkers in endocrine diseases such as pituitary tumors and diabetes. He is also engaged in One-Health and in identifying sustainable solutions for challenges in health and disease.
