Tarje Bergdahl is Medical Director Norway at Novartis, where he leads the company’s medical strategy and represents Medical Affairs in the Norwegian leadership team. He has more than 25 years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry across medical affairs, oncology, clinical research, market access, communications and commercial leadership.

Tarje has held several Nordic and country leadership roles, including Nordic Medical Director Oncology, Medical Strategy & Operational Head, Nordic Medical Franchise Head Oncology and Hematology. He has extensive experience in developing medical strategies, building cross-functional and cross-country teams, and driving public-private partnerships, clinical trials, real-world evidence projects and scientific collaborations across the Nordic healthcare environment.

He has a strong background in oncology and has also worked across therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, neuroscience, immunology, dermatology and rheumatology. Tarje holds a Cand. Scient. degree in Biology/Physiology from the University of Oslo, with additional education in marketing and management from BI Norwegian Business School.
